As warmer weather quickly approaches (even though snow is in the forecast for us tomorrow), I have to get back into the mattifying mindset that I was able to set aside because the colder air brought my skin closer to normal. In my arsenal are mattifying primers, foundations, powders and setting sprays. Since I am always on the lookout for the most effective products for my skin, today, I am testing out the @purcosmetics Matte Mist Anti-Pollution Mattifying Setting Spray ($24 for 4 ounces – https://rstyle.me/+SbsR5wXiAHbaKAje6d9pPw)!
What it claims:
🔘 Lock in makeup and help protect your complexion with the beautiful, just-applied, shine-free matte finish of Matte Mist
🔘 PÜR’s secret to longer-lasting makeup looks, this lightweight Anti-Pollution Setting Spray is packed with skin-loving ingredients, like Grape Leaf Extract, which helps protect skin against environmental stressors, like high energy visible blue light
🔘 The dual-action, Charcoal-rich formula appears black and then dries clear as it helps to protect skin from outside stressors, like daily grime, smoke and smog, for a visibly clearer, fresher and healthier-looking complexion
As with so many of the reviews on @ultabeauty’s website, I also had ongoing issues with the nozzle on this bottle. I am guessing that, because of the ingredients, this has a tendency to clog. Running it under hot water for several seconds, spraying it into my sink until the mist was back to normal and then applying it to my face is commonplace at this point – which is exactly why I don’t find myself reaching for it. Also, on top of the packaging inconveniences, I don’t feel like it keeps me more matte then when I don’t use a setting spray at all.
