I really want to find a natural deodorant that works for me and that’s why I’ll continue to search until I do! So, when the opportunity came up to try @typeadeodorant Aluminum Free Deodorant (normally $10.99, there is currently a 10% off coupon on @amazon for 2.82 ounces – https://rstyle.me/+LZhoABO_h1YGbgyoApT8ig), I jumped at the chance to possibly find my glass slipper!
What it claims:
🔘 No aluminum, no parabens, no toxins
🔘 Our sweat-activated formula releases throughout the day for long-lasting protection
🔘 Our soothing cream absorbs instantly and won’t irritate your skin
🔘 While your body is adjusting, you may sweat more or smell differently for about 2 weeks, though some don’t experience any adjustment period
🔘 I have been using this consistently for one (1) week.
👍🏻 I really enjoy the scent. it’s light, but still present enough to make me feel like I smell fresh.
👍🏻 The application is easy, surprisingly clean and, as they claim, does actually feel soothing with zero irritation.
👍🏻 It does absorb instantly and there is no wet or sticky feeling left behind.
👍🏻👎🏻 Since I have yet to use it for the recommended two (2) weeks with no relapses with regular deodorant (I did once), take this with a grain of salt, but I can definitely smell myself (and not in a good way). It’s not as if I’m wearing no deodorant, just less.
👍🏻👎🏻 Along with a mediocre amount of odor protection, it lacks immense sweat protection. Again, not non-existent, but a reduction in what I’m used to.
I knew if I wanted to detox my underarms as I would need to do in order to get the full efficacy of a natural deodorant, I would need to do in winter and I’m glad I did that. While I am currently underwhelmed by the sweat and odor protection, I am impressed with everything else, so I will continue to use this in hopes that my body will adjust and it will become a required product in my routine. I’ll provide my final thoughts in an upcoming empties post.
