Wear Test Wednesday – @NyxCosmetics Shine Loud Pro Pigment Lip Shine

December 16, 2020

My absolute favorite liquid lipstick of all time is from @chanel.beauty and it’s $38 (https://rstyle.me/+JWc8cRgK56ULaxuW1lT7Yg), so it was in my wallet’s best interest to seek out a less expensive dupe! When I saw an advertisement for the @nyxcosmetics Shine Loud Pro Pigment Lip Shine ($11.50 for .22 ounces – https://rstyle.me/+zkkaxPnNqj2apG_0dfB-Kg) and the packaging resembled that of my favorite, I instantly added it to my cart!

What it claims:

πŸ”˜ Meet the 1st ultra-pigmented high shine lip color, with up to 16hr zero color transfer wear

πŸ”˜ No smudge, no bleed, no fade: you can kiss, drink, hair flip and even wear it under your mask

πŸ”˜ This 2 step technology delivers comfortable 1 swipe bold color, with an ultra-glossy, non-sticky finish

πŸ”˜ Featuring 100% vegan formula infused with rich lip loving oils including macadamia seed oil, coriander fruit oil, jojoba seed oil, apricot kernel oil & passion fruit seed oil

πŸ”˜ Cruelty-free and PETA certified

My experience:

πŸ”˜ I purchased the shade Global Citizen and it’s described as a “medium neutral nude.”

πŸ‘πŸ» I really enjoy the color. It’s a bit darker on my lips than it looks in the tube, but I still think it’s beautiful.

πŸ‘πŸ» Photo one (1) is after six (6) hours of wear. I didn’t reapply the color, but I had reapplied the gloss a few times. As you can see, the color stayed on really well.

πŸ”˜ Photo two (2) shows what the product looks like with and without the gloss.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» The formula is comfortable. Not the most comfortable, but far from the least.

πŸ‘ŽπŸ» The gloss fades very quickly, which means I’ll use up the gloss end much sooner than I will the color.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» It was difficult to remove, but I expect that with something I hope will last all day.

My verdict?

While the shade I chose is beautiful, it lasted fairly comfortably on my lips for an impressive amount of time and the price is very palatable, I don’t think I’ll be purchasing any other colors because it didn’t perform well enough to dethrone my current favorite. However, if Chanel is not in your budget, I think this formula would still impress you!

FYI, I receive a small commission when you shop via the links listed above.
