Foundation Friday – @Dior Backstage Airflash Spray Foundation

September 25, 2020

I never thought I would buy a foundation without trying it first, but for years I had been hearing that the @diormakeup Backstage Airflash Spray Foundation ($62 for 2.5 ounces – https://rstyle.me/+tCp3w_XiDQvQFZ1I9TOsTg) is a holy grail of so many people, so one day, without any hesitation, I just added it to my @macys cart and proceeded to order. Of course, as soon as I did that, I crossed all my fingers and all my toes that it would work for my skin!

What it claims:

๐Ÿ”˜ This fluid spray foundation guarantees a perfect, flawless complexion every time

๐Ÿ”˜ Enriched with light-diffusing pigments, it instantly smooths the skin and boosts radiance for a perfect complexion that lasts all day

๐Ÿ”˜ The water-resistant formula ensures 12-hour hold and colours that stay true

๐Ÿ”˜ Its ultra-fluid and ultra-fine texture allows for buildable, custom coverage to suit any skin tone and texture

My experience:

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป I purchased shade 2N and it’s my ideal match right now.

๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป The shade selection isn’t great, so let’s hope they expand soon.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป In the photo, I had been wearing the foundation for eleven (11) hours.

๐Ÿ”˜ I have used this twice. Once with a hydrating primer and once with a mattifying primer. Since it’s more of a radiant foundation, it worked much better for me when used in conjunction with oil-controlling products.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป On the day I took the photo, I had not blotted once.

๐Ÿ”˜ I spray the product on the back of my hand and then use a damp beauty sponge to pick it up.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป The coverage and finish are absolute perfection. My skin looks plumped and smoothed – probably more than any other foundation I’ve ever tried does.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป I wore my face mask over it and there was barely any transfer.

My verdict?

Crossing my fingers must have worked because I absolutely love this foundation! The packaging, the shade, the coverage, the finish, the wear time – seriously, everything is impressive! I am not sure it would work for me in the summer because of how dewy I’ve gotten while wearing it, but I can definitely see it being my new go-to winter foundation!

FYI, I receive a small commission when you shop via the link listed above.
