While I still go back and forth with whether makeup primers do much of anything on my skin, as we (slowly) approach summer, I am made more and more aware of my upcoming need for oil-reducing products. So, when I got the @biodermausa Sebium Pore Refiner ($19.99 for 1 ounce – https://shopstyle.it/l/bf4xG) as a free gift with purchase, part of me got excited by the idea of possibly finding one of my shine-free, pore-reducing holy grails!
What it claims:
🔘 A correcting concentrate to improve the skin’s appearance
🔘 Skin’s texture becomes finer, more regular and clearer as pores are tightened and less visible
🔘 The Fluidactiv exclusive patented complex biologically regulates sebum quality, which keeps pores from becoming clogged and limits skin irregularities
🔘 Agaric acid, a powerful astringent, tightens pores and refines the skin texture
🔘 Anti-oxidants preserve the skin’s natural radiance
🔘 Even though this is a “first impression,” I couldn’t only try it once before forming an opinion. I have worn this a handful of times with a variety of foundations and setting powders.
🔘 Today, I wore it only on the right side of my face and in conjunction with my most hydrating foundation.
👍🏻 This glides on super smoothly and creates a very nice canvas for foundation.
👍🏻👎🏻 I can tell that the right side of my face is more “naturally radiant,” as they claimed it would be. Unfortunately, I think that is accentuating my pores.
👎🏻 I have been wearing it for five (5) hours now and the right side of my face is visibly more oily and the pores look more pronounced.
While my initial experience with this product leaves me fairly unimpressed, the claims make it clear that using this product will help your skin long term and you may not see extensive immediate benefits. I can’t say at this point that I would repurchase, but I’ll keep using it will provide an update in an upcoming empties post.
