Thursday Thoughts – @Itcosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder

April 2, 2020

There isn’t much from @itcosmetics that I’ve tried and haven’t enjoyed, so when I got a sample of their Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder ($30 for .31 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bfgS7) I was really excited to test it out!

What it claims:

๐Ÿ”˜ Best-selling, award-winning Bye Bye Pores Powder formula-in a perfectly portable compact

๐Ÿ”˜ Instantly minimizes the look of large pores and imperfections

๐Ÿ”˜ Universal translucent shade works on all skin tones

๐Ÿ”˜ Delivers a shine-free finish that lasts

My experience:

๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป The first time I wore this, I applied too much with a damp sponge all over and it made my foundation and concealer look a bit heavy.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป The next time, I used a brush only and applied a lot less. It looked a ton better upon initial application.

๐Ÿ”˜ In order to give this the best chance of success, I used it in conjunction with my current favorite primer and foundation.

๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป The primer and foundation I used don’t fill pores well, so I figured I would see the most dramatic impact using this pore-minimizing powder. Unfortunately, I noticed no real, long-lasting difference.

๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป During both days of wear, I noticed more shine than I usually experience about halfway through the day – especially when I applied only a light layer.

My verdict?

I really wanted to like this powder, but its performance fell flat for me. It may work really well for someone with more normal skin, but for me, being oily, it wasn’t nearly mattifying enough for my preference.
