First Impression Friday – @annasuicosme Gel Foundation Primer

March 20, 2020

Not only had I never tried anything from the @annasuicosmetics_us line, I didn’t even know it existed! Thanks to @nikirobisonbrows for giving me a sample of their Gel Foundation Primer ($30 for .98 ounces – https://bit.ly/2WyllWe) to test out!

What it claims:

πŸ”˜ Inspired by the rich, creamy texture of the French dessert blancmange

πŸ”˜ An ultra-hydrating primer that conceals pores and moisturizes for a supple, dewy complexion

πŸ”˜ The unique gel-cream formula absorbs quickly for deliciously smooth skin

πŸ”˜ Use it alone to even out your skin on no-makeup days or as a base for flawless foundation application

πŸ”˜ SPF 24 protection

My experience:

πŸ‘πŸ» The packaging of the full size of this product looks gorgeous.

πŸ‘πŸ» The texture of this product is like no other primer I’ve ever used – it’s concentrated and enjoyable.

πŸ‘πŸ» The scent is nice, light and doesn’t linger.

πŸ‘ŽπŸ» Applying this to bare skin, I didn’t notice much of an evening out. I wouldn’t consider this light coverage, even for a light makeup day.

πŸ‘πŸ» Applying this underneath foundation, I definitely noticed a minimizing of pores and an overall moisture boost to my skin.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» I didn’t notice that my skin was any dewier than normal, but I use a lot of powder and I am guessing that’s why it didn’t have a ton of glow.

πŸ‘πŸ» My foundation and concealer went on flawlessly over top.

πŸ‘πŸ» The foundation I wore with this is long-lasting as it is on me, but this primer made it look smoother for the over sixteen (16) hours in which I wore it.

My verdict?

Since I had no knowledge of this brand before trying this product, I went in pessimistically. However, I was pleasantly surprised! It filled pores well and created a really nice base for all of my other makeup. I will have to continue testing this to see if it has the ability to dethrone my other favorites, but it’s promising!

If you use primer, what is your current go-to?
