Foundation Friday – @Clinique Even Better Refresh Hydrating and Repairing Makeup

January 31, 2020

As if I didn’t already love ULTA enough, they went and offered a full-size @clinique foundation as a Diamond Perk at the end of 2019! I picked out the Even Better Refresh Hydrating and Repairing Makeup ($32 for 1 ounce – https://shopstyle.it/l/bc9oz) and have been testing it for a few days!

What it claims:

πŸ”˜ A full-coverage foundation with 24-hour wear that revitalizes skin for a more youthful look

πŸ”˜ Hydrating foundation with flawless full coverage and a natural finish

πŸ”˜ Creates a virtually poreless look

πŸ”˜ Smooths and plumps for younger-looking skin

πŸ”˜ No parabens, phthalates, fragrance, allergy tested, oil-free, non-streaking, non-acnegenic and won’t clog pores

My experience:

πŸ”˜ I picked out shade CN 28 Ivory (very fair, cool-neutral undertones). The undertone is perfect, but it’s a tiny bit dark.

πŸ‘πŸ» It looks flawless upon application, no matter what products I have used it with.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» I don’t agree with the full coverage claim, but I will give it high medium to low full coverage with a brush and medium coverage with a sponge.

πŸ‘πŸ» I have worn this on several occasions and each time for over twelve (12) hours and even considering it’s a hydrating foundation, I never get overly oily to the point of needing to blot.

πŸ‘πŸ» It doesn’t sink into my forehead or chin lines – which is rare for me.

πŸ‘πŸ» It barely bunches on the sides of my nose and that’s a common issue I have.

My verdict?

I had tried other @clinique foundations previously with no luck, so I had low expectations for this one. However, I am blown away with how much I enjoy this! It’s skin-smoothing, a perfect amount of coverage, works well with any and every product I use it with and it lasts all day long! After using it for a couple of weeks now, I can say it has definitely moved into my top three (3) foundations of all time.
