While I love the look of a full coverage foundation, I rarely love how heavy it looks on my skin, so I was excited to get a sample of the hyped up @jouercosmetics Essential High Coverage Creme Foundation ($38 for .68 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bco1Z) to test out and see if it could defy the odds and cover without caking!
What it claims:
🔘 Offers a matte, full-coverage, airbrushed finish in 50 shades
🔘 A small drop is all you need to achieve a picture-perfect look
🔘 Combines chamomile and cucumber extract to help soothe and calm your skin while hyaluronic acid helps support natural hydration and keeps you feeling flawless all-day
🔘 Formulated without Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates
🔘 Gluten-free and vegan-friendly
👍🏻 I was very surprised that this came with six (6) sample shades! I mixed together shades Porcelain (Light) and Fawn (Medium).
🔘 I have worn this on two (2) separate occasions. The first time, I didn’t apply much at all and got medium coverage. The second time, I applied a bit more and definitely got full coverage.
👍🏻 When I wore it with medium coverage, I used a powder that doesn’t keep me as matte as the one I’m wearing today, so the fact that I got pretty oily came as no real surprise. However, using my most mattifying powder today, I have been wearing the foundation for nearly six (6) hours and haven’t had to blot once.
👍🏻 It blended out beautifully and worked well with all of the products I put on top.
👎🏻 Almost immediately, it began to sink into my forehead lines and it hasn’t gotten any better or worse since then.
👎🏻 I don’t ever get creases around my mouth, but I can see them forming and it definitely ages my face.
👍🏻 On and around my nose, it’s looks really nice.
👍🏻 My cheeks look airbrushed.
👎🏻 My chin is breaking up slightly.
👍🏻👎🏻 The area between my eyebrows looks good, but not great.
I am conflicted with this foundation. While it gives me perfection in some areas. Others? Not so much. I don’t see myself purchasing the full size of this.
FYI, I receive a small commission when you shop via the link listed above. There is no additional cost to you.
