Skincare Sunday – @GlowRecipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask

December 29, 2019

I’ll be honest. I purchased the @glowrecipe Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask ($42 for .5 ounces – https://shopstyle.it/l/bb7MO) because of the packaging. But who can blame me – look how cute it is!

What it claims:

πŸ”˜ Potent, encapsulated ingredients like retinol, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide time release throughout all hours of the night, while avocado hydrates and nourishes, and coffeeberry helps to brighten and depuff the delicate under-eye area

πŸ”˜ The result is brighter, smoother, more awake-looking eyes by morning

πŸ”˜ Ophthalmologist tested and dermatologist tested

πŸ”˜ This product is vegan and cruelty-free, and comes in recyclable packaging

My experience:

πŸ”˜ I have used this on several occasions. Normally as a night eye cream, but also, as the packaging states you can, as a day eye cream.

πŸ‘πŸ» The packaging is beautiful and I like that it comes with an applicator (not pictured). I usually find them unnecessary, but the opening is fairly narrow and it does make the process more sanitary.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» I don’t love the texture. It looks really thick, but doesn’t feel like it. For a day eye cream I can appreciate that, but I prefer something thicker for nighttime.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» After weeks of repeated use, I can safely say that I didn’t notice any benefits different than other eye creams I had used up until I started with this one.

My verdict:

I really, really wanted to love this. The reviews were great, the jar was display worthy and I got excited by the idea of having super moisturized under eyes every morning. Unfortunately, it just didn’t do anything special for me and, for the price, I need to see more than I did.

What is your favorite eye cream? I have a couple of favorites, but I’m always looking to try your go-tos!

FYI, I receive a small commission when you shop via the link listed above. There is no additional cost to you.
