Foundation Friday – @maybelline Dream Urban Cover Full Coverage Foundation

September 20, 2019

I recently picked up a few new drugstore foundations, so I posted a poll on my Story to see which one you wanted to see a review of first and over half of the votes were for @maybelline Dream Urban Cover Full Coverage Foundation ($12.99 for 1 ounce at @walgreens – https://shopstyle.it/l/8elE)!

What it claims:

πŸ”˜ Experience the first full coverage makeup, specifically formulated to protect your skin from harmful environmental aggressors

πŸ”˜ This lightweight foundation has broad-spectrum SPF 50 and is enriched with antioxidants to protect against pollution

πŸ”˜ It not only leaves a natural-looking finish but protects skin day after day

πŸ”˜ Available in 16 shades

My experience:

πŸ‘πŸ» I purchased shade 120 Classic Ivory. It’s a bit yellow on me, but it still works.

πŸ‘ŽπŸ» The shade range isn’t great.

πŸ”˜ As I am typing this, the foundation has been on for six (6) hours.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» I didn’t experience full coverage on the first layer, but it was high medium. I don’t like caking product on, so I stopped at that level of coverage.

πŸ”˜ I applied it with a beauty sponge.

πŸ‘πŸ» It blended out easily and worked beautifully with all of my other products. The only thing I would suggest is to set the places in which you’ll be applying powder products because it was a bit tacky.

πŸ‘πŸ» There has been no settling into my forehead lines.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» There has been very slight settling in between my brows and in my chin crease.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» There has been slight cakiness on the sides of my nose.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» After around four (4) hours of wear, my nose started to get oily. However, since it claims a natural finish, I wasn’t surprised.

πŸ‘πŸ» I don’t see that it has faded from any area of my face.

My verdict?

If this were the beginning of summer, I’d assume I wouldn’t be getting much use out of this foundation because of its natural finish. However, since we’re heading into fall, I can see myself using this constantly on what will become my drier skin. I also love that it contains SPF and is affordable (even more so now because @walgreens is having a buy two (2) get one (1) free sale!). It wore well and made my skin look healthy and flawless. Definitely a winner in my book!
