Good concealers can sometimes carry high price tags, so when I heard there were a lot of positive reviews for some of the recent drug store concealer launches, I knew I had to review them! Today, I tested out the @covergirl TruBlend Undercover Concealer ($10.99 for .33 ounces at @ultabeauty – https://shopstyle.it/l/6U7Z).
What it claims:
🔘 Say bye to bags, dark circles and other skin imperfections with this lightweight concealer
🔘 The large, fluffy doe applicator ensures an easy, even application and the velvety, smooth formula leaves behind a matte finish that lasts all day
🔘 With 30 shades that match 99% of skin tones, it’s easy to find your perfect hue
🔘 I applied it to my under eyes and down the center of my face and I blended it out with the same damp beauty sponge I used for foundation.
👍🏻 It is lightweight and has a medium coverage.
🔘 Because of the medium coverage (and my desire for a higher coverage), I applied a bit more product under my eyes after blending out the first layer.
👍🏻 It layered without looking heavy or cakey.
👎🏻 While I was getting my setting powder situated (around 30 seconds), I noticed that it had already settled into the fine lines under my eyes more than I experience with my current favorite concealers.
👎🏻 I was able to pat out the wrinkles and set it, but you could still see that the lines were slightly more defined than normal.
👍🏻 I have been wearing it for over four (4) hours so far and have experienced no fading or additional settling into any of my fine lines.
If you are looking for a concealer that blends out with ease, doesn’t feel overly heavy on the skin and provides a medium, but buildable coverage, this may be the exact product for you! I would, however, not recommend this to people with dry or substantially wrinkled under eyes. For me, I really like this concealer. It was easy to use and provided nearly everything I look for – especially a manageable price tag. I’ll continue to use it with a variety of foundations and powders and will update either in a favorites or empties post in the future.
If you use one, what is your favorite drug store concealer?
