I will admit that the packaging on the @colourpopcosmetics So Juicy Plumping Gloss ($7 for .335 ounces on their website) was part of the reason I was attracted to it (middle school memories, anyone?!). However, also loving the shades and the claimed plumping properties also played into why I picked them up!
What it claims:
🔘 Loaded with cooling, lip plumping peptides to create fuller looking, pouty lips
🔘 Refreshing peppermint tingles while nourishing Vitamin E hydrates and conditions lips
🔘 This sheer coverage gloss delivers all day shine in a cushiony, comfortable, non-sticky formula
🔘 Swipe it on with its easy-to-use, built-in applicator or use with a lip brush for more precision
🔘 I purchased two (2) shades – Round About (described as a soft pink) and Type of Way (described as a cool petal pink).
👍🏻👎🏻 While I absolutely love the tone of Round About, since it’s a lighter shade and quite pigmented for what it is, it tends to show lines of demarcation until the product has had time to warm up to my lips. That means, it’s difficult for me to apply without a mirror. However, once it has melted into my lips, it’s stunning.
👍🏻 Type of Way is gorgeous. Easy to apply and just the right amount of rich pink coloring.
👍🏻 The texture is not at all sticky and very comfortable.
👎🏻 The claim of it delivering all day shine is only true if you keep applying throughout the day (which I have no problem doing – I expect it with a lip gloss).
👍🏻 I love the peppermint scent.
👍🏻👎🏻 It does slightly tingle and my lips do look plumper when wearing it, but that’s probably just an illusion because they’re so shiny.
👍🏻👎🏻 The applicator is OK. It allows the product to glide on easily, but not evenly or precisely.
Although I really love both shades, I wouldn’t repurchase Round About because it doesn’t provide me the ease of application that I expect with a lip gloss. Type of Way gives me that freedom, so I would repurchase that shade in a heartbeat! I also look forward to trying other shades because it’s just a great product for an affordable price!
Have you tried these? If yes, which shade(s) do you own?
