Thanks to another gift from @nikirobisonbrows, today, I tested out the Beauty Hardware by @crickettools 2-in-1 Silicone Sponge Makeup Blender Pro (I can’t find it for sale online currently, but one place that it was out of stock at listed a price of $15)!
What it claims:
🔘 The silicone side is ideal for applying and won’t absorb makeup
🔘 The sponge side was created to blend and will leave a flawless finish and even coverage with no streaks
👍🏻 I had tried a silicone sponge previously and didn’t enjoy it for blending out foundation, but I did enjoy it for placing the product around my face prior to blending. I enjoyed the silicone side of this sponge for that reason, too.
🔘 I dampened the sponge and it nearly doubled in size.
👍🏻👎🏻 The texture and density of the sponge was nice, but it did soak up a lot more product than my other sponges do.
👎🏻 When I went to use the pointed end to blend out my concealer, I nearly poked my eye out with the silicone portion.
👍🏻 It has remained damp throughout the day and I like that because then I can touch up at any point without a dry sponge removing makeup.
Even though the concept was intriguing, the execution is lacking. If the sponge itself didn’t soak up so much product and the silicone side didn’t almost impale me, this may be a product I would recommend. However, it did both of those things, so I can’t.
What crazy and/or unique beauty tool have you seen that you want me to test out?
