Try Out Tuesday

January 29, 2019

As a foundation lover, all I need to see is a ton of positive reviews, a drug store price tag and a sale to be convinced that it belongs in my collection! All of those boxes were checked for the @lorealmakeup Infallible Foundation ($14.99 for 1 ounce at @walgreens), so I picked it up last night and am testing it for the first time today.
What it claims:
πŸ”˜ Up to 24-hour fresh staying power
πŸ”˜ Long lasting foundation with their most lightweight, breathable texture
πŸ”˜ Waterproof, transfer-resistant and sweat-resistant foundation
πŸ”˜ Medium-to-full buildable coverage foundation
πŸ”˜ Natural finish
πŸ”˜ Contains SPF 25
πŸ”˜ Available in 30 shades
My experience:
πŸ‘πŸ» I purchased the shade 425 Linen and the match was pretty good.
πŸ”˜ I first applied at 7 a.m.
πŸ‘πŸ» I used a damp makeup sponge and it blended out quickly and evenly.
πŸ‘πŸ» The first layer provided me medium coverage. I was able to build it up to high medium on the areas in which I felt I needed more.
πŸ‘πŸ» Concealer blended flawlessly on top.
πŸ‘πŸ» I set my under eyes and the center of my face. The other areas seemed to self-set.
πŸ‘πŸ» Bronzer, blush and highlight applied nicely on top.
πŸ‘ŽπŸ» About five (5) hours into wear, it began caking up in the creases of my nose and wearing off and getting patchy in my chin indent.
πŸ‘ŽπŸ» It has settled a bit more than I like in between my brows.
πŸ‘πŸ» Other than the center of my face, it looks nice everywhere else.
My verdict:
Oh boy. I really wanted to like this! How could so many positive reviews be wrong?! I used my traditional skincare and priming routine, but maybe it just doesn’t play well with those products. I’ll try again tomorrow, but, if it looks this bad on my nose and chin again, I may need to return it.
Have you tried this foundation? If yes, did you like it?
