Foundation Friday – @makeuprevusa Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation

When all you hear are positive reviews for a very affordable foundation, at least for me, it quickly becomes a must buy! That’s why I picked up the @makeuprevolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Foundation ($12 for .8 ounces at @ultabeauty – https://shopstyle.it/l/4RnX) and have been testing it sporadically over the past several weeks.

What it claims:

πŸ”˜ Offers lightweight yet buildable coverage in 24 skin-true shades, this versatile foundation is designed to suit every skin type and tone

πŸ”˜ With an oil-free yet creamy and comfortable formula that dries down to a long-lasting, demi-matte finish, it won’t settle into fine lines or cling to dry patches

πŸ”˜ Housed in a luxe glass bottle with a jumbo doe-foot applicator for greater control and less waste, this foundation offers highly pigmented coverage that can be layered or diffused to suit your look

πŸ”˜ Vegan

πŸ”˜ Cruelty, paraben and oil-free

My experience:

πŸ”˜ I purchased shade F6 (for light/medium skin tones with a neutral undertone), but it’s still too light. I made it work with bronzer, but I wouldn’t purchase that shade again.

πŸ”˜ I have tested this foundation on four (4) separate occasions and varied which moisturizer and primer I used each time.

πŸ‘πŸ» I like the packaging and really enjoy the applicator.

πŸ‘πŸ» The price is great.

πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» The shade range is pretty good.

πŸ‘ŽπŸ» I dislike the scent. It smells like chemicals.

πŸ‘πŸ» I have applied it with both a sponge and a brush and it gives high medium to high coverage both ways.

πŸ‘ŽπŸ» This instantly settles into my forehead lines and in between my eyebrows. No matter what moisturizer/primer combination I use, it looks cakey and dry in that area.

πŸ‘πŸ» It looks good today on my cheeks and nose, but that hasn’t been the case every other time I’ve worn it.

My verdict?

After today, I will happily never be wearing this foundation again. I have tried every trick in the book to make this work for me, but to no avail. I hope to never see my forehead looking this wrinkly and cakey ever again.

Have you tried this foundation? If yes, did it work for you?
