(Hair) Mask Monday: @igkhair Mistress Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner

When my favorite dry shampoo (@igkhair First Class) is offered in a gift set with two (2) additional products for the same price as the one (1) product, how can I say no? Even though it appears the trio being sold together is no longer available, everything is still sold separately. You have already heard my glowing review of First Class and my review of the third product will be coming soon, but today, I’m going to speak on the @igkhair Mistress Anti-Frizz Leave-In Conditioner ($29 for 5 ounces or $15 for at @sephora). Also, since I took the product shots while at the @mnzoo with my nieces last week, I thought I’d throw in a few of those photos for a better look at my hair and the fun we had!

What it claims:
πŸ”˜ A leave-in conditioning balm that melts into hair to boost hydration and reduce frizz
πŸ”˜ Suitable for straight, wavy, curly and coily hair textures
πŸ”˜ Addresses dryness, frizz and heat protection
πŸ”˜ Contains coconut oil, shea butter and argan oil
πŸ”˜ Can be used on wet or dry hair, all over or just where you need extra hydration
πŸ”˜ Vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free

My experience:
πŸ‘πŸ» The smell is fantastic and, since it’s a leave-in product, it lingers for quite some time.
πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» It takes some getting used to the amount of product you should be using. It says a small amount, but a small amount doesn’t feel like it does enough and a larger amount weighs my hair down. I think, if I ever do discover the perfect amount, the container will be empty.
πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘ŽπŸ» As you can see from the photos, and especially in comparison to similar products I have used in the past, I don’t believe I notice a surprising amount of hydration or shine. It looks nice, but just as nice as if I had been using just a traditional conditioner.
πŸ”˜ I have yet to try it on dry hair.

My verdict?
I read a review on @sephora that said “The product smells amazing, but after a while I felt like that is the only reason I bought it!” That’s where I’m at right now. It smells great, but without the performance to go along with it, I can’t even come close to justifying the price.

What is your favorite leave-in conditioner? I enjoy the concept, I just need one that works!
